Legislative Public Hearing

Public Hearings to be held on: 

Local Law O: "Regarding the Adoption of the Code of Albany County" [23-003] [22-LL-O]
Local Law L: "Creating the Albany County Nature and Historic Preserve System" [23-004] [22-LL-L]
Local Law A: "Enacting Section 470 of the Real Property Tax Law - Providing for an Exemption from County Taxes for up to 10 Years for the Construction of Buildings Meeting LEED Standards" 23-005] [23-LL-A]

This meeting will be held IN PERSON, with the option to watch live on YouTube or participate remotely via Zoom

  • If you come in person, please be prepared to follow current COVID guidelines.
  • You can watch our hearings live on our YouTube channel.

If you would like to participate via Zoom:

  • You must pre-register with the Clerk (see below). 
  • County residents will be taken first.
  • Speakers may be allowed up to five minutes to express their views.

Pre-registration closes at 12 Noon on the day of the hearing.

Please send an email to publichearings@albanycountyny.gov with the following information:

  • Your name, address and phone number
    Your name and municipality will be made public (e.g., "Jane Doe, Cohoes, NY"), the rest of your information will remain private.
  • Confirmation that you have access to Zoom
  • The Public Hearing you would like to speak at and a statement you would like read in lieu of formal participation.
    • You may sign up for multiple Public Hearings, if time allows.
    • Please limit the length any written statements to allow for the participation of others.
    • All written statements will be given to members, regardless of length. 
  • The Clerk or a member of our staff will contact you with the information for you to connect.
