The State University of New York At Albany: The University at Albany is a four-year, public university with a strong College of Arts and Sciences and a cluster of professional schools, all engaged in a broad rage of research and public service activities. The College of Nanoscience & Engineering of the University at Albany (CNSE) was recently ranked the world’s #1 college for nanotechnology. The UAlbany CNSE is the first college in the world dedicated to research, development, education, and deployment in the emerging disciplines of nanoscience, nanoengineering, nanobioscience, and nanoeconomics. CNSE's Albany NanoTech complex is the most advanced research facility of its kind at any university in the world: a $3.5 billion, 450,000-square-foot complex that attracts corporate partners from around the world and offers students a one-of-a-kind academic experience. The UAlbany NanoCollege houses the only fully-integrated, 300mm wafer, computer chip pilot prototyping and demonstration line within 65,000 square feet of Class 1 capable cleanrooms. Over 1,600 scientists, researchers, engineers, students, and faculty work on site at CNSE's Albany NanoTech complex, including IBM, AMD, and Applied Materials.
The College of St. Rose: This four year independent college serves traditional students and working professionals, offering 39 undergraduate programs, 22 master’s degrees and six graduate certificates.
Siena College: A four-year, private institution offering twenty-five majors through the School of Liberal Arts, School of Business and School of Science.
Albany Law School: The nation’s oldest independent law school offers the Juris Doctor degree as well as a master’s degree in legal studies designed to provide government employees, lobbyists, engineers and other professionals who interact regularly with the judicial system a better understanding of the law and legal institutions.
Albany Medical College: One of the nation’s oldest private medical schools, Albany Medical College is linked to Albany Medical Center Hospital through the Albany Medical Center, the hub of a health care network that includes 50 hospitals and more than 3,000 physicians in its 24-county service program.
Empire State College: Empire State College, of the State University of New York, serves adults who need flexible learning options. Students study independently under the guidance of a faculty mentor at a regional location—or through distance learning—while keeping contact with a faculty advisor.
Excelsior College: Excelsior College is America’s first virtual university. Students can take advantage of flexible programs while earning their degree.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences: Offering degree programs in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences and biomedical technology, the Albany College of Pharmacy recently added the Pharmaceutical Research Institute, the Center for NanoPharmaceuticals, and a new student center.
Maria College: An independent, two-year college, Maria College offers degrees in business, computer information, nursing, and occupational therapy.
Bryant & Stratton College: Bryant & Stratton College offers 15 degree programs through both on-campus and on-line programs. Students can earn the following degrees at the Albany Campus: accounting, business, human resource specialist, medical administrative assistant, paralegal studies, administrative assistant, criminal justice, information technology, and medical assisting.
Mildred Elley: Mildred Elley offers 2-year certificate programs in game design and animation, digital graphics and multimedia design, massage therapy, business management, information technology, medical studies, office technologies, paralegal studies, and hospitality and travel management.
