If you have tested positive for COVID-19, you must isolate.

You can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both of the following are true:

• Your symptoms are getting better overall, AND
• You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).

When you or your child or dependent have met the requirements for release from isolation you may complete an affirmation of isolation form as legal documentation for your isolation and for New York Paid Family Leave COVID-19 claims

The CDC no longer recommends quarantining if you've been near somebody who has (or may have) COVID-19.

If you were exposed to someone with COVID-19 or have been told by a healthcare provider or public health authority that you were exposed, and you DO NOT have any symptoms, regardless of your vaccination status or if you have had a previous infection you should wear a well-fitting mask for 10 days and get tested at day 5.

It’s also important for you to tell your close contacts that they may have been exposed to COVID-19 so they can get tested, and wear a well-fitting mask.
