New Vehicles

Those looking to purchase a new electric vehicle may be eligible for a light-duty electric vehicle tax credit of up to $7,500/new vehicle. Additionally, the NYS Drive Clean Rebate adds up to $2,000 off of the purchase price of a new electric vehicle. When purchasing a new electric vehicle, restrictions apply to be eligible for these credits.

Used vehicles

Those looking to purchase a used electric vehicle can be eligible for a tax credit of up to 30% of the vehicle’s cost or $4,000 (whichever is lower).

Residents

If you install a home Electric Vehicle charging station, you are eligible for a tax credit up to 30% of the cost of hardware and installation, up to $1,000 through the Electric Vehicle Charger Tax Credit. Through the NY Drive Clean Rebate, if you purchase a new electric vehicle, you are eligible for a $2000 rebate on that purchase. Follow the links below for more information on these programs.

Businesses

With the Utility Make Ready Program, businesses who install electric vehicle charging stations can have 50% of the cost covered through this program. The NYS Alternative Fueling Infrastructure Tax Credit can offer businesses up to $5,000 or 50% of the cost of purchasing and installing an electric vehicle charging station. Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Credits & Rebates

The four programs below offer farmers assistance in undertaking conservation and other projects on their lands. Follow the links below for more information on each of the programs.

Funds for Farmers

Homeowners who make changes to cut their energy usage by at least 35% can get up to $4,000 in rebates. Low- and middle-income households can get up to $8,000.

HOMES Rebate

Those looking to make small home improvements are eligible for a credit up to $1200. This credit can be used to cover items such as doors, insulation and lighting. If you are looking to make a larger home improvement such as installing a heat pump or a boiler, you may be eligible for a credit up to $2000.

Energy Efficiency Home Improvement Tax Credit

Those looking to make improvements to their homes with new, qualified clean energy equipment may be eligible for credits up to 30% of the costs.

Residential Clean Energy Tax Credit

This program provides point-of-sale consumer discounts to enable low- and moderate-income households to electrify their homes. Consumers are eligible for a rebate up to $14,000 for home improvements; restrictions apply.

HEEHRA Program

Central Hudson Gas and Electric offers both residents and businesses incentives for home/business improvements. These home improvements can be long term cost savers as new equipment is more efficient and uses less energy. This means you as the consumer will get more bang for your buck.
